Ectoparasitic, insectoacaricidal agent; ATC Vet Code: QP53AC11

Pharmacological Properties:
Bitoxi is based on the synthetic pyrethroid deltamethrin and is characterized by a broad-spectrum insectoacaricidal effect. It is effective against mange mites, poultry mites, ixodid ticks, scabies, sheep ticks, bedbugs, flies, midges, mosquitoes, and other ectoparasites.

Its mechanism of action is based on blocking neuromuscular transmission at the peripheral nerve ganglia level, leading to paralysis and death of the parasite.
Bitoxi is moderately toxic to warm-blooded animals and, in recommended doses and concentrations, does not cause local irritation or allergic reactions.
Toxic to fish and bees.

Indications for Use:
Bitoxi is used exclusively for eliminating ectoparasites in animals, including mange mites, scabies mites, fleas, ixodid ticks, lice, mosquitoes, flies, midges, and flesh fly larvae.

Method of Use and Dosage:
Used as an aqueous emulsion by spraying or bathing animals.
The working emulsion must be prepared immediately before use. Initially, the concentrate is mixed thoroughly with a small amount of water (1:4 ratio), and then this mixture is gradually added to a bath or disinfection unit with additional water, mixed for approximately 10 minutes. The temperature of the working emulsion should be between 15–20°C.

Do not rinse the animal after treatment.
Avoid spraying against the wind.
Animals should be treated in the morning before being let out to pasture, or during rest periods, according to the ectoparasite risk.

Against psoroptic mange in sheep:

  • Bathing: 1 L concentrate per 1600 L of water

  • Spraying: 1 L concentrate per 1000 L of water

  • For prevention: single treatment

  • For treatment: two treatments, 7–10 days apart

Against ixodid ticks in cattle (spraying):
1 L concentrate per 1350 L of water.
Consumption rate: 2–3 L per animal
Treat every 6–7 days.

Dispose of used solution into a sedimentation tank.

Contraindications:
Do not treat sick or weakened animals.

Side Effects:
None observed when used at recommended concentrations.

Withdrawal Period:

  • Animals may be slaughtered for meat 5 days after the last treatment.
If slaughtered earlier, meat can be used for carnivorous animals or for meat-and-bone meal production.
